What happens when you visit this site

When you open this site, technical data is generated: your IP address, the address you requested, your browser's identifier and language setting, and the date and time of the request. The server uses this data to deliver the page to you, in German or English depending on your language setting. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We don't keep a log of visits. If the server runs into a technical error during your visit, it may write an error message. It contains your IP address and your browser's identifier. We only use such messages to fix the error. They are deleted when the server service is set up again, for example during updates. There is currently no fixed deadline for this.

Hosting

The site runs on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The server is located in Nuremberg.

No cookies, no tracking

This site doesn't set cookies and doesn't measure how you use it. Fonts and images are stored on our own server. Nothing is loaded from third-party providers.

Contact form

If you send us a request through the form, we process your name, your email address and the topic you choose. The link to your social media profile or website and your message are optional. We only use this information to answer your request. If it concerns a contract with us, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, otherwise our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Your request goes to our server at Hetzner (see Hosting) and from there as an email via Google Workspace to our inbox. It stays stored on the server so that nothing gets lost if delivery ever fails. The server deletes it automatically after 90 days.

To stop anyone from sending the form in bulk, the server briefly counts how often the form was sent from an IP address. This only happens in memory. The IP address is not stored. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The form doesn't set cookies either.

When you email us

If you send us an email, we process your address and your message in order to reply. If it concerns a contract with us, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, otherwise our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Our emails run through Google Workspace. In Europe, the provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may be transferred to the USA in the process. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

We keep your message for as long as we need it for your request. Longer only if the law requires it.

Your rights

You can request information about your data (Art. 15 GDPR). You also have the rights to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). To use them, write to us at the address in our Legal Notice.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example in your country of residence. The authority responsible for us is the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus (www.dataprotection.gov.cy).

Your right to object

If we process your data based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you can object to this at any time (Art. 21 GDPR). To do so, write to us at the address in our Legal Notice.
